Becher Shore
The captivating and vivid beauty of the Pacific Northwest, vibrant floral landscapes and the spiritual meaning embedded within biblical text inspire Lesley Friedmann’s art. In this original oil painting, Becher Shore, Lesley captures arbutus trees and the lush rainforest surrounds Becher Bay, one of Lesley's favorite local beaches in East Sooke Park on Vancouver Island, Canada. Recently this has become one of Lesley's favorite places to snorkel (with a wetsuit!). Through intricate brushstrokes and dramatic contrasting colours, Lesley transforms the dynamic and ever-changing shoreline landscape into an elegant impressionistic and multilayered mosaic paintings rich in surface texture, and alive in colour.
